Theta

When Olivia is looking through the images of the victims aboard the plane(pilot episode)…you can clearly see the seatbelt. This might me a stretch, but it looks like a symbol to me…
Theta?

Theta?

Theta

Theta: The eighth letter of the Greek alphabet. ‘Theta’ is derived from the Phoenician letter ‘Teth’, meaning ‘wheel‘. The symbol is actually ‘Teth’. In classical Athens this symbol was used to signify death or a warning of death, much like we use the skull and bones today.

Massive Dynamic car

Massive Dynamic car

When John is searching the warehouses he stumbles across this car. Upon closer inspection of the emblem on the car you will notice the striking resemblance to the MG Car logo. I think the car is a late 70′s ‘Vermillion’…can anybody confirm that?

Glowing Monkeys

Post decal

Post decal

The first time we see the Massive Dynamic building in the pilot episode…just to the left is a pole with a large decal on it. The decal has a website on it called ‘Glowing Monkeys‘. It is a real website dedicated to just the sorts of things that ‘Fringe’ is about. Genetics, Nanotechnology, Cybernetics and all kinds of other cool stuff.

Near

Near the end of the episode, Olivia pulls Steig’s tape out of the glove box, rewinds it and then presses play. If you slow down the portion of audio that is rewinding, it is actually people talking.

This is a reference to H.R. 4290: An amendment of the 2002 Homeland Security Technology Advancement Act. To amend the Homeland Security Act of 2002 to provide for additional availability of testing facilities and equipment and to extend the authority of the Secretary of Homeland Security to carry out certain research and development projects.

olivia

I love finding meaning in numbers, and this one is no different.

official

The official application form for discharge from the Armed Forces of the United States is ‘DD Form 2168′. Olivia was Marine Corp…anyone know why she’s not anymore? Was it requested? Don’t know if it’s relevant, but I thought I would stick it in.

Flight 627

Walter's classified file.

Flight 627

The plane from Hamburg was flight number 627. When Broyles opens up Walter’s classified file, it looks like the words ‘FLIGHT 627′ in the box under his driver’s license.

6/27 is J.J. Abrams’ birthday.

This

This may be a coincidence, but just in case it’s not…

There were 147 people aboard Flight 627, that auto-piloted into Logan Airport. Boston Logan International Airport built a memorial to honor the 147 passengers and crew who died during the September 11 terrorist attacks.
