Looking back at 104 – “The Arrival”

What did we miss?

- This isn’t plot related, but I did notice something strange about Olivia’s apartment.  At some point it changed.  In the four episodes that I have re-watched so far, her apartment looks like the images on the left and in later episodes it looks like the images on the right.  Clearly it is not the same set.  At first I thought maybe she moved to be closer to her office, but the view from the outside is the same and there’s never any mention of her moving.  I will keep my eyes open this summer and try to pinpoint the exact episode in which the change is made.

Fox Honcho – Kevin Reilly on future of ‘Fringe’

Kevin Reilly

Kevin Reilly

“Fringe, one of the few hits of the fall, has not yet been picked up for a second season, but fans should not worry. “I would anticipate it would be,” Reilly said. The show has generated good if not stellar ratings but has a loyal cult following. Fringe returns with new episodes on Jan. 20 and will air Tuesdays at 9 p.m.”

second season

Reilly also hinted that J.J. Abrams’ sci-fi thriller “Fringe” will be back for another season.

“I already know ‘Fringe’ is a keeper,” he said of the show, which soon will benefit from a lead-in from “American Idol.” “The show’s been a bear creatively because it’s been very ambitious. They’ve really found the storytelling model now. … If you follow the serialized story you will not be disappointed (in the second half of the year), yet the stories really do reset themselves each week. I would not expect it to take off after ‘Idol,’ but I do think it will tick up another level.”

The tombstones

During the cemetery scene, they zoom in on a few tombstones. I found three of them particularly interesting. The first one seems to be a family of Russian descent. Last name ‘M’. If you look closely, you will notice that there are five letters missing. In order, they are M,O,Y,M, and Y…’moymy’ in Russian is ‘blunder’…what the fringe!
