‘Trevisanus Bros. Estimators’ - I did some research, and this is what I found on Wikipedia.

“Bernard Trevisan (Bernard of Treviso, Bernardus Trevisanus) refers to one or more Italian alchemists. These are often confused, or more accurately the name may refer to a shadowy figure or figures. The figure from the fifteenth century is described as living from 1406-1490. He was born into a noble family in Padua and spent his entire life spending his family fortune in search of the Philosopher’s stone.”
“The philosopher’s stone is a legendary alchemical tool, supposedly capable of turning base metals into gold; it was also sometimes believed to be an elixir of life, useful for rejuvenation and possibly for achieving immortality. For a long time, it was the most sought-after goal in Western alchemy. In the view of alchemists like Sir Issac Newton, familiarity with the philosopher’s stone would bring enlightenment upon the maker and conclude the Great Work.”

Is this possibly a prelude to a storyline involving turning metal into gold? Or perhaps a search for immortality? Does it have anything to do with what Jones is ultimately after? I assumed Jones was after the pieces of Walter’s hidden items from the remaining safes (Walter’s mnemonic post), and I also speculated that maybe that item would be related to time travel. But what if it is much more than that? What if a natural side effect, from this particular mode of time travel, is eternal youth. Could that possibly explain why The Observer doesn’t age.

It doesn’t look the the side effect is eternal youth, it’s something terrible according to Walter. Which begs the question, how does he know that? Maybe he used it after-all? Although, I have to remind myself that he doesn’t deny using it, just that he never had to to save Peter.
