The Notes:

The quotations “Space is ample, east and west…” (‘The Over-Soul‘)and “Nature shows all things…” (‘Intellect‘) are from essays by Ralph Waldo Emerson.  Emerson was an American essayist, philosopher, poet, and leader of the Transcendentalist movement in the early 19th century.

    Oh ho, severed hand. We saw one of those come out of Walter’s car in 102. More support for my admittedly crazy idea that Walter is an older Peter who traveled back in time (and brought the hand back with him).
